Ali Beletic

Archival Print on Paper | 2025

Signed, dated and numbered **/20 in pencil on the front (there were also three artist's proofs), published by Vanguard Projects., CA.

Embracing a reductionist yet maximalist approach to 2D surfaces as well as her large scale sculpture, Ali’s history with juxtaposition traverses her signature approach of blending disparate mediums, bold hues, pluralist philosophy, and monumental scale into a cohesive and beautiful experiential work. Known for her exploration of vastness, materiality and the subversion of traditional forms, her new print series, Element of Sensual Spectacle was made utilizing ali’s special canvas production techniques, blended with archival print production, photographic documentations, digital composition, and features ancient clays, burned wood and botanical dyes alongside spray paint and various modern mediums to finalize the sensual and intellectual frameworks of abstraction in printed form.

The prints echo her signature earthy imperfection of handcrafted clays, while maintaining a sense of modernity through clean, color fields and dynamic color contrasts. Each piece is a visual dialogue between the primal and the refined, the handcrafted and the industrial.

At its core, this collection underscores Beletic’s ability to merge traditional and contemporary techniques, offering a nuanced exploration of abstraction as a bridge between history, technology, and sensory experience.

With this series, Ali works with spatial illumination into two-dimensional form, provoking intimate yet equally immersive experience, compressing her expansive spatial works into a flat plane while maintaining their transcendental essence. These prints serve as both standalone pluralist gradients of infinite and finite, as well experiential glimpses to the artist’s broader practice.

10% of profits go to environmental cleanup, habitat restoration and indigenous communities globally.
